Bronx River-Sound Shore’s Bird Photo of the Week program features bird photos taken within the Bronx River-Sound Shore territory in lower Westchester County, and within “reasonable” driving distance of BRSS territory (i.e. one or two hours drive). The photo chosen for each week’s Bird Photo of the Week and distributed each Thursday morning will have been taken from mid-day Tuesday the prior week to mid-day Tuesday two days prior. We aim to feature new species each week, and as many different photographers and birding hot spots as possible each year. At the BRSS Annual Meeting in June, we bestow a “Bird Photo of the Year” award on the photographer who has taken the most popular BOTW photo, as selected by the BRSS membership.
